That is right, if the parts are left on the car. If you take them off you will get way more for them. I have been down this road before. If you mod your anything do it for you and not to increase it's value. I goes with everything, even houses. I was looking at houses in a gated community and there was 100k difference in two houses with the same square ft and layout the higher priced one was marble and granite all over, exotic woods, top of the line bathrooms, and every room had beautiful molding. The other house was the base model.

Hmmm...what happened to the original GT2 suspension? If you still have it, we may be able to work a deal. Not 100%, but I think the whole assembly is interchangeable, but not positive about the front end.

Best of luck on the sale.

If the link you put up is still true, maybe he should make the other cars more sellable so he can keep this 1.
You also have to understand the difference between mods that people will want and are willing to pay for and those that are more personal to the owner only.

You never get retail out of anything you buy. Things are only worth what some1 is willing to pay.

Modifications are fun, but rarely bring any value, usually detract. The GT2 is a rare, limited production Porsche, unmolested cars will command top value. Best bet is to return it to stock if possible, sell the parts at market price.

there is so much $$ into this car. part it out and and sell it stock and you will get more then your current asking price for it. it seems like a pain but its worth doing.

Just looked at the ad and with the quality of the mods on that car i'd be more inclined to leave the mods on. Parting out can be a hassle. At 75K that car is a steal. Those brakes alone bump the value of the car 10% and I don't care if they are used or not. They are the best of the best. You can't argue that the car has been modified with the best of the best. I'd say just be patient and wait for the right buyer.

This is of course exactly correct. It will take a while to find a buyer of a highly modified GT2, no matter what the price. If anything I would think that car is priced too low, and you might have better luck listing that car with a 90k+ price tag. Sometimes in selling big ticket toys a low price is a hindrance, making people wonder what is "wrong" with the car.

Also do not use the picture upload feature of forums, host them on something like photo bucket that will let you embed the full size picture, with a properly sized image.

GL

K24madness is infamous around these parts
Guys thanks again for all of the feedback. When I get back from the 25hours of Thunderhill Monday I will take a fresh approach to the sale.

I keep looking at this car in my garage and think I should be the one buying it.

Unfortunately in the general porsche market, mods will usually get nothing and in the case of a GT2 will lessen the value. I understand the brakes are better and the mods make it a better driver's car. However overall, they will decrease the value. This goes for all p-cars. Granted you can find the individual buyer that is looking to mod the car, but they are the minority out there.

Just look at the 99TT's you see on the road. Almost all stock.

I agree with Ben here. I sold my fairly modded (exterior) 996tt a few months ago and it did take a while but all you need to do is find the right buyer. In fact as I look back at all the cars I've sold (and most of them had extensive exterior modifications), I only parted out one car completely.

Be patient and the right buyer will come along. Btw, my "right" buyer was a guy in Switzerland so you may have to expand your exposure if you havent done so already (mine sold on ebay).

I would part it out given you have the time and are willing to put in the effort. You'll get way more money that way. Either way, good luck with the sale - she's a real beauty!
