Should I buy this turbo?
Should I buy this turbo?
Well, my buddy who started this whole porsche mess in my head took me to Hoehn to see one his salesguy buds who thought he must have a car for me.
I drove a sweet 04 cab. It was a sweet car, but i thought it was slow. So now that I had cleared my head a bit better, i drove on of 2 6 spd 01 turbos he had.
The car is lapis blue metallic - a color that I absolutely love and the interior is savannah beige. Its got 26k miles, was purchased, serviced and traded in at hoehn. Its also got a porsche certification and 2 yr/100,000 mile warrantee.
I think the car has bose, but frankly the stereo system will get junked pretty soon.
I drove it and found it to be adequate in terms of handling and acceleration
they wanted $86900, but we settlled on $79900 in a pain-free negotiation.
Anyhow, bring it on whaddya think?
I've seen 01 turbos for lower prices - but none from a REAL popo dealer. I like the warrantee and the great history of the car. At best I know i can maybe save $3-4k, but will likely give up up the porsche cert and extended warrantee. I must admit i'm scared of potential problems with a ca purchased from one of these high-end resellers.
Anyone have any experience w/ buying cars from no-auth dealers etc?
Should I buy this car??
Duh.

You don't state your location so it's hard to tell whether that's a good deal in your area. I think that car has too many miles for 80K. It's worth about 70K + whatever the warranty is worth to you. Maybe 75K?
man that's high for an 01 w/25k miles
when i was on the lookout for turbos ...
i noticed that the prices at walters porsche in riverside were in the lower side than what other dealers were selling used turbos for...

also u can rip them out a new one.. u can bargain the price lower, bec. lapis blue is one of the hardest color to sell
white and blue are the hardest to sell in the used car market.. trust , me i know, i used to have a lapis blue 996.. and they ripped me a new one in the trade in...
lapis with brown interior is even harder to sell... if u want the car it's cooll just bargain it down more in my opinion...

Why do you guys think an 01 with 26K on the dial think that's a lot of miles? Heck, I've got 19.5K on my dial and that's average for an 03.

Just as a reference point I just bought a fellow members 01 TT with 26K miles for 71K. This car was absolutely perfect and had lojack, Techart coils, K-40, and RUF wing. I think I got a super deal, but just so you know there are cheap, good value, 01's out there.
Remember, mods tend to bring down the value of a car, not the reverse. Your TT with 26K and no mods at all would be worth more. The only way to get your money out of mods is to return the car to stock and try and sell them.
My favorite color combo
Everyone I see remarks that they love the color. Sorry to hear it is so hard to sell.
That being said, I think you could do a little better on the price. Take your time and do it right. Good luck.

I have lapis blue & natural brown interior. I get compliments all the time on this combination.
