slave symptoms?

what are the telltale signs of the slave going?

Hard pedal is more likely the actuator. Look to see if the slave itself is leaking. It is located above the transmission beside the black bulb actuator.

aside from visable signs, would the clutch engagement feel different?

It did for me. It was either on / off with the engagement travel all the way at the top. This happened to me last week. Cost me $1200 to fix.

i have a CPO
will they do the accumulator under warranty?
will they do both at same time, if they usually go together?

I believe Porsche recommends that both be done at the same time so mention that and see what happens.
