Off the Wall -- Will 997 PDK Fit 2001 996 tt ?

Weird question for you all ... I'm likely to be getting a clutch replacement on my 2001 996TT this coming year and wondered if a PDK from a wrecked 997 would fit / work.

The car was modded by previous owner with 24-18G / Softronic / Intake & Exhaust & waste gates, so it is more powerful than stock but he kept the original clutch which holds WOT in 1st thru 3rd, but feels like it is starting to slip some if I push it hard in higher gears. I don't drag race it, but do enjoy the "usual" blast; therefore this would be more to help with the frequent Houston traffic stop-and-go (rush hours on 59 between downtown and Kingwood) vs just going with a stronger manual clutch.

And, if this isn't a completely stupid idea, any ideas about
a. how much $$ I'd be looking at?
b. anyone that has done this already?

Thanks, Jay

I don't think it can be done and that is why it is on the 997 Turbo only after it adopted the 9A1 engine platform. At least, not the present day PDK as it exists.

You'll need the complete engine, tranny and ICU and only god (or maybe one of the board sponsors) knows what else to get the PDK into a 996 Turbo.

Thought So . . . Thanks

Thanks to CyberGypsy and Duane996tt. Guess you've confirmed what I strongly suspected, but then again sometimes you aren't sure until you ask.

Guess I'll have to save up a bunch of shekels to have a PDK. Until then, just a stronger clutch for this one.

Regards, Jay
