Question Anyone running the AP Air Intake|CAI System?

Hi,

I'm contemplating buying this for my 996TT; but want to hear about real-life results; since it's very pricey for a piece of formed plastic (keep your comments to yourself). Has anyone felt a difference running the cold air ducting and new routed airbox piece, I wanted to go with this option or something similar since I do not place to run a oil based airfilter (ie; K&N|BMC)?

HI,I can not say I noticed a difference in seat of the pants feel on the day I changed it...BUT the air sound sounds neat.......And in theory the more surface area of more air being sucked in should give a cooler charge, which I like....I do notice that when the car is sitting after a drive, that the air is not as hot coming from the two outlets verses when it was just the one opening......Hope that helps.....

I like this airbox ALOT. Anything that increases airflow to the filter (and thus, theoretically, the engine), without changing the location or orientation of the stock mass air flow tube or mass air flow sensor is wonderful in my book. I'm sure there are those who feel that these airbox designs (like the sportec one from UMW, which is crazy nice but also crazy expensive) don't add much, but my thinking is that it must do something since the 996 Gt2 uses this same dual snorkel design.

Great feedback guys; and it looks like all of you are running the K&N filter.

Any reason why you went w/the K&N and not the BMC?

I was not aware that the 996 GT2 has such a snorkel design.
