Need advice - thinking of buying '01
Hi guys, I wanted to see if I can get your advice: I'm looking to buy an '01 turbo, which supposidly has been modified with "GT2" parts to produce 550HP at the crank. There's not much technical detail listed, except that it has K-24 turbos installed, GT-2 intercoolers, FVD ECU, EVO billet diverter valves, GMG stainless headers and europipe exhaust w/cats. That's all the tech info listed.
My question is, does this sound reasonable? What questions should I be asking them when I go check it out?
Thanks all.

Well, I'm looking to buy, not selling....
They want around $55k for it, very low miles.
I just want to find out if what the seller is advertising sounds right, and is possible... for example, I know 996 GT2s have less than 500HP stock, so how can this one have 550?
Stuff like that....

We definitely need more information- link it to us. No one will snipe your sale, especially at that price.
Modified k24s can make the power. It's probably not "built with gt2 parts" but just an x50 car

Great looking set-up. The turbos appear to be modified by FVD, the exhaust is top of the line, the suspension is a well regarded coilover, the front bumper and rear wing are GT2 and probably authentic if done at park place. The SSK, DVs, upgraded brakes, heated seats, intake, ect are all a great plus. I believe the power claims.
The wheels are strange but otherwise it appears no expense was spared on the building of that car.
It has more to it than I thought and would be a nice buy for you if you dont want to spend the money to do the same work yourself. Remove the link and buy that sucker! I would still try to negotiate 5k off.

True enough, the interior is quite.... something....
Thanks for your advice guys, I will definitely keep my offer on the low side. If I end up getting it, I'll PM you both and let you know how it turned out.
Much obliged!

Sure man, good luck.
The car is well worth the money (if you dig the interior). It's a very nice set up.
I have pretty much the same set up but the bumper/wing.
If I were comfortable with the color combo, I'd figure:
$40k for a well kept '01 w/ low miles.
$10k for the upgrades.
Drive the hell out it and enjoy it for another 80k miles !!
