This while Kelly Blue Book for the car in a trade-in is $60,200 with said mileage and being in excellent condition..

Some recent sales I've noted confirm that $60K is somewhat optimistic so I'm not going to be surprised at a lower value offers, though I'm definitely not gonna let it go for $34K...

The market is still strongly in favor of buyers.
Your car would be hard to peg a value on, because it's arguably the most desireable 996TT model in existence, however your mileage is high enough to negate most (if not all) of any collector interest (IMHO). A few 996TTS's have traded hands recently, with prices posted in the "how much did you pay for your 996TT" thread - so that might give some useful comparisons. EDIT: I must say, however - low-mid 30's is an attempt to steal that car, assuming it doesn't need PCCBs replaced (or any other big-ticket repairs).

However, as with many luxury/discretionary items, the market for 996TT appears to have been moving upwards over the last 18-24 months or so, from the low-point during the recession. If you just look at asking prices for clean, average-mileage 02-04 models, it appears that $45-50k is where many are clustered. I'm very curious to see where they're at during April/May/June 2011. I'm torn between 965, 996TT, 996GT3... will probably try to drive them all before making a decision.

If my wife says I HAVE to sell mine, I plan on asking $110K.

The PCCBs are in decent enough shape, probably about halfway through their usable life based on what service techs have told me. And the clutch and tranny are still fine.

But yeah, the high mileage definitely counts against it. What can I say, she's not a garage queen... (Actually, the previous owner drove it for 66,000 of those miles and I'm only averaging around 7000 a year even though it's my daily driver.)

And yeah, I think $34K was an attempt to steal the car. I test drove a C63 and really liked it, but I wasn't going to do the deal with that value for my car.

Good luck with your decision... It's a great time to be a buyer.

I think i saw this car on the dealer lot, you know the one across the street from the 7-11, the kinkos printed banner zip tied to the building reads 10% down, no credit required!! - im assuming of course
Clearly a fly by nighter, will skip on the buyer in a month.

The passenger airbag cover looks loose, so I'm guessing that some crashing predated this rebuild. Also, my car has 10K miles on it, and the driver's bolster isn't anywhere near as bad as in the car shown. The guy could just be really fat, though. Maybe the car's got $60G in the trunk?

how much u guy think this car is worth?

http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/auto...000-miles.html

he's asking 90k for it...

Honestly, that's even funnier than the original post.

The guy takes a 1999 C2, puts fake 997 gt3 bumper on it, puts fake 996 turbo rear bumper on it, fake 996 turbo vents on it, fake badges on it, an aftermarket SC on it, and asks for twice what a real one would cost!

There is not 130 thousand dollars in that car, guaranteed

"IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN ONLY TO MAINTAIN THE FLUIDS" really? with 8450 miles!! how far is the dealership!?!? with those miles the car would have 2-3 oil changes witch would mean the dealership would have to be about 2800 miles away!!

It's always interesting to see what idiots will ask for their cars based on what their hearts say the cars are worth.

The simple fact is neither of these cars will come sell unless it's for half the asking price, or somebody is a real idiot and buys them.

There are TITLE PROBLEMS as seen in the provided carfax for a REBUILT TITLE.

Um... any potential buyer for this car would need to be able to get a lot of research done on the car's history due to that title issue. Also, would want to see the car in person and have PPI done.

Seems that the seller just put this on eBay to advirtise the car as it would seem that he wants to sell it outside of eBay as nobody would pay that price for this car.

Anyone actually trying to sell a car worth $100k+ on ebay would have taken more time with the listing, car details, photos, and overall presentation of the listing.

IMO, even if it's all legit, not someone that I'd want to buy from anyway.

My thoughts exactly after reading this

I LOOK FORWARD TO DISCUSSING THIS FINE AUTOMOBILE WITH YOU IN FURTHER DETAIL. IF YOU ARE CURIOUS ABOUT DECREASING THE PRICE, MAKE ME AN OFFER AND WE CAN SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS VEHICLE'S TITLE.

Come on seriously, we all know there was a little rain storm in Louisiana in 8/2005 called KATRINA. Then to have a rebuilt title issued in 11/05? I guess he forgot to mention that the car also doubles are a submarine. Maybe that is the reason for the extra 60K.
