Boost Questions, Help me out!

I'm famiular with turbo cars, but what susprises me about the Porsche turbo tuners is that 95% only run flashed ECU's.
Using only the ECU and a factory boost control selinoid unit to controll boost.

Is it really that good or has no one tired using a seperate electronic boost controller?

When u get a flash do you also get a differen selinoid unit?

My experience with flash's yeald un-uniform boost patterns (ie. spikes and drop's)

My experience tells me that an after market electronic boost controller has to be better (i.e. Blitz , HKS etc.) due to the fact that they have much faster steping motors to open and close and stronger selinoids.

Correct me if i'm wrong...Just trying to figure these cars out ..lol

Thanks guys!

Paul

Unfortunately, custom programming and flashing dominates the 996T market... if someone could adapt an AEM setup to our cars, the sky would be the limit.

There's been a lot of trial-and-error that our sponsors have had to go through to crack the coding, and have been pretty successful at it. So, there's definitely a lot of confidence going that route... the downside is that owners who know how to tune have their hands tied in terms of accessing the ECU.
