AOS: do I need mine replaced?

Lately, at start up, I get smoke. It use to happen only after a hard drive with lots of time under boost. Now its happening more often.

I have read that once it fails completely it will throw a code and/or I will look like an oil burner driving down the road.

So the question of the day is will/should the extended warranty cover it without a code?

Thanks
Scott

Do you let the car idle for a while before you shut it off? In two years, mine has only did it twice, but since I started idling every single time, it hasn't done it in about a year!

I make sure to drive withOUT getting into boost for the last few minutes before shutting it down, but I dont let it just sit and idle. It takes 3 minutes of 20 mph driving to get home from the entrance of my community. Is that enough time?

Try letting it idle for 30 seconds while you are parked before you turn it off. Can't hurt to try!
