Burned side marker light, more than I thought?

A couple of days ago I noticed my left side marker light (orange) is burnt.
I bought some new wedge bulbs and took off the side marker to replace it, to my surprise I saw the bulb was very moldy and the base had the oxidized acidic green on the base connector (like from a battery).

It was a little stuck and after I got the old bulb out, I put the new one in, it did turn on but the connection was very bad so if I moved it just a little it would turn off.

I thought of cleaning the green off a little with a screwdriver - bad idea. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the light **** inside the car was turned one click to the right (parking lights on, electricity going to the base), and during cleaning the base with the screwdriver there were electric sparks once (like when you connect a car battery) and then I put the new bulb and it didn't turn on at all.

I guess I must have shorted something, I HOPE only burned a fuse?

The right side still works but the left doesn't. Could I have caused something serious? The car seems fine.

Thanks for any help

check your fuses. they are on the driver side footwell. check ALL of them by pulling them out with a plier or fuse puller.

I will check tomorrow and update, but I would think that both side markers would be on the same fuse?
I really hope it's only a fuse... This is stressing

Ok, after cutting my finger with the stupid damn fuse box cover I checked a there is a separate fuse for each side marker. The left 7.5 fuse was burnt, I replaced it and now the side marker works.

Thanks for the help
