How to upgrade WG Springs?
How to upgrade WG Springs?
I bought a set of new turbos that came with stock WGs and an upgraded spring package (uninstalled).
How the heck do I get into these WGs? Can I just cut the seam of the wastegates with a grinder on all sides, swap the springs, and then seal it with the new billet clamps?

I actually did a DIY document that I never posted when I did Kevin's (UMW) kit. PM me an email and I'll share it. I also have the UMW doc.
I did another members over at my house, we did the wastegates and installed them in a couple of hours...BSing time included.
I used a belt sander, which gives more control of the material removal, AND lets you slow it down to avoid too much heat. Done right, the two halves separate with a virtually machined-clean edge.
There are some tidbits on 'clocking', etc.
