Rare GT2 Cab Tip

I was pricing out insurance over the weekend. Progressive lets you put in the VIN and it will tell you the rate for your car and what car it is.

It lists it as a 2004 911 GT2 Convertible.

Thought that was cool

my car is an x-50 and the insurance lists it as a GT2, if yours is a turbo s or x-50 with the extra hp they will ding you.

I believe it is just a translation table that the insurance companies use; my car came up as 911 Carrera with my old insurance company.

Oh I know. It is an X-50, which is why they show it as a GT2. Just thought it was funny.

I noticed some insurance companies ask if the car has performance modifications, I'm glad my company doesn't ask yet! Rate really increases.

My insurance company also thinks it's a GT2. Be smart if you ever total the car and ask for a "replacement" of the correct model. Might get you an extra $30K

That said, it shows you that a real GT2 isn't any more to insure.
