GT28 hybrid turbo question

My car is on it's way to EPL for a "make it run right and better than ever" session. I'm sure first to go will be the old school GT28/k16 hybrid turbos. Being that they are brand new turbos, it would be ashame to just toss them. I have a better plan. My 2004 Z06 has a TTi Stage 1 turbo kit, using 2 T28 turbos. It appears the GT28's flow quite a bit more than the T28's, so I thought I'd swap them out. But the T28's have the T25 flange/housing and my GT28's have the k16 housing. When they made this hybrid turbo, was the K16 modified or the GT28 compressor housing? Can I pull the GT28 compressor, drop it in a T25 housing and be good to go? Also, does anyone know what GT28 turbo was used (GT28RS, GT2871R)?

You got those turbos at the end of 2008 from Imagine, right? Are you sure they are not A28s? I got my set from Stephen in May of that year...

Sure did. I bought them from someone on here, not Kaspar directly but they were with him. They were advertised and sold as GT28 hybrids, but could be A28's.

If they say Tial on the housing they are A28s. O/W probably hybrid GT28s. Sorry dont know the answer to your question about using them elsewhere.

yes - you can get the T25 housing for a GT28 76 trim and use it (IF they are BB) - the oil drain has been modified to fit Porsche though
