Car dyes after hard braking to a complete stop...

I recently had my tiptronic built and added a catless markski race exhaust and GT2RS intercoolers. I did not retune my car after this.

Since then, I have noticed loud pops while driving (explainable due to getting rid of the cats). I need to get a friend to drive behind me to see if there are flames. I am guessing a retune would help fix this...

Also, when I accelerate hard off the line and quickly brake to a complete stop (hard stop), my engine dies.

Common with all tiptronics, my car previously would have its RPMs dip (and quickly come back to normal parked car revs) when i did a hard stop, but the engine never died.

Should I be worried about this? .

Tj Hunter is infamous around these parts
A tune seems to be what is in order. You are getting too much fuel into the engine, which would make sense, you added greater air flow then stock, so the engine is pumping a ton of fuel in because it seems a proportional increase in air coming into the engine. I am not sure if there is both a pre and post cat sensor, if you are catless and did not tune for it, you will have issues with CEL's and running irregular.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the retune will fix this. If not, the TCU programming may need a little fine tune.

Softronic does my tuning, but I did not get an update after I installed the catless exhaust, GT2RS intercoolers (replaced agency i/c), second in-line fuel pump, and built tiptronic.

I have driven about 1000 miles since the above mods and I have not gotten any warnings lights.

Ben,

Mine popped and often stalled when I ran straight pipes without cats. You are actually hurting your power with out a certain amount of back pressure. How is the tranny?

Thanks Todd...I remember you told me you had the same issue with your car sputtering after a hard stop, but I don't recall your car ever actually dying at a stop...

Tranny is good so far. Put about 1000 miles on it so far...(half of that was in one day, to/from the texas mile). Car has been at motorwerks for 2+ weeks getting my drop link/strut issue resolved. The brackets on my struts got ripped off.
