do you like AWD?

Properly set up, and other variables equal (like power and weight), AWD will be much faster on a track.
Rear will drive will still be more fun. It's more tossable. You can throw the tail out and throttle steer more easily. But, the more fun you have, it is more likely than not that you are actually going slower.
As for which do I like better. It depends on my mood. If I want to flail the rear end around for fun, AWD doesn't cut it. If I want to accelerate like bat out of hell with 640 HP and street tires, RWD doesn't cut it. So, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I think the answer is, I need a front engine, RWD car 1/3 of the week, an AWD car 1/3 of the week, and something quiet and soft 1/3 of the week to give me a break from all the noise, sliding and mayhem). Fortunately, I've got all three (911TT, race car below, Navigator)... although admittedly I don't drive the race car on the street that often.

2wd=being a one legged man in an *** kicking contest
4wd=king of the hill or track whichever floats your boat.
If you find your 4wd not entertaining enough you need more power see CJV's post about drifting, Drifting a two wheel drive car is fun, drifting an AWD and leaving 4, countem' 4 FAT black stripes THAT IS IMPRESSIVE even more so when the only thing left smoking is the pavement.
