Has anybody gone C6 Z06 to 996TT?
Bahahaha, if you think that GT1 motor was anything like the street motor you are smoking. You keep jumping back and forth because you don't want to commit to any statements. You would be forgetting the DFI that Corvette Racing tried to sneak into GT2 and got penalized for, along with the various other differences from anything resembling the LS7. These were all part of the GT1 motor that have NOTHING TO DO with the street LS7.
That's comparable to saying the GT1 race car is the same car even if it only shares an heavily modified version of the frame rail and the floor board.
You are a trip man.
^^^ He's correct in that the LS7 and C6R motors have very little to with one another other than they were both 7.0L 427's (in GT1). The C6R motor was 100% aluminum no iron cylinder sleeves like the Z06 motor, different crank, stroke, cylinder heads, intake etc...

Dude, can you read!!?? He said "based on" not running an LS9 and he's 100% correct too. Do you know WTF you're talking about?
I agree about the ZO6. I would like to have one one day but not in lieu of my 911. And like you I have never gotten and never will get that feeling about the GTR
Propulsion for the remainder of the 2009 ALMS season comes from a downsized 6.0-liter version of the 7.0-liter V8 that has been running in the GT1 car. The bore size remains the same, with the primary change being a shorter stroke crankshaft. For 2010, some rules in GT2 will mean an all-new engine for the Corvette. Come Sebring next March, the GT2 Vettes will be running a new 5.5-liter V8 based on the next-generation version of the GM small block. Unlike the GT1 engines, for the new cars will be assembled on the line at the GM Performance Powertrain Center alongside the production LS9 and LSA used in the ZR1 and Cadillac CTS-V.

LS3 is Gen IV, The 5.5 V8 is reported to be Gen V hence the 6.0 version having direct injection which they banned. The Gen V V8 will feature direct injection. So let me explain this clearly, since you all think I fell and hit my head. The LS9 is an LS3 built for forced induction and as such its a Gen IV V8. The LS3, LSA, and LS9 are 6.2 liters but more than that they are from the Gen IV engine family.

Weren't you the same guy claiming to be interested in adding a 911 or Turbo to your stable in the future not to long ago? I'm almost positive you said something to that degree. Are you going back on your words now?

Corvette Racing was cheating and got caught. They knew they weren't coming out with an engine running DFI within the 1 year period they have to homologate and engine after the season they run it (hence why the GT3 RS with the 4.0 motor is being built). Corvette racing was just plain cheating, it was the beginning of last year that they got caught. The only motor they could build at the time was a motor based on the LS9 which is based on the LS3 per the rulebook.
They could be running a DFI Generation V based motor THIS YEAR since the new Corvette motors will be out next year. But I'm not sure if they are or not. I'm guessing the motor will be based on the base Corvette and not Z06 due to displacement limitations, but they could destroke the Gen V Z06 motor as well. But since that article is from 09 it's clear that someone didn't know what they were doing/talking about.
