The boost seems low? I thought if anything it would be high given most people say 0.6 or 0.7 and I am generally seeing 0.9 constant boost figure.
He's referencing your picture showing 0.4 bar.

Actually, this leads me to another question... What effect does boost level have on the longevity of the engine. Can you boost to 1.0 and the engine last 100k miles? Is there an advantage to keeping the boost pressure lower?

You said it boosts .7 in 3rd GEAR. Mind trying it in 6th at roughly the same highway speed? I bet its 1.0 or higher.

I'm sure that, in theory, lower boost pressure (just like lower rpm) does put less stress, wear and tear on any engine. However, what fun would that be?

The real question is what levels of boost is the engine and its components designed to take. I suspect that, at the boost levels we're talking about here, there's minimal effect on the longevity of the engine. Other folks here with more knowledge could be more definitive.

Get up to 700-800 HP and rumor has it connecting rods start to get tweaked. That can't be good. Probably doesn't help the crank bearings either.

Of course, I haven't seen it myself.
