Help cel on!!
Help cel on!!
Hi guys, so on Thursday, I took my car to a local custom exhaust shop, I had the stock exhaust removed and 200cell Cats with straight pipes to quad tips made and fitted with the pre and post cat sensors put in as they would be on the stock system. I collected the car, started it up and drove it. NO CEL at this point. the revs were a bit lumpy and car felt 'confused' to the mod. felt responsive one minute and unresponsive the next. So i decided to go home, take both terminals off the battery and i left it disconnected for about an hour. reconnected the battery, started the car, let it warm up, took it for a blast down the road. sweet, no CEL up. cooled car down. switched off. went indoors. Later on, went to see some friends, cruising along and CEL comes on. Car not in limp mode, drives fine, still boosts, revs freely but drinks fuel like therez a 6inch hole in the fuel tank!! So i disconnectd terminals on battery again, took car for a drive up and down the road, car is fine. switch car off, back on, fine no CEL. Now the CEL comes on after switching the car off and back on 3-4 times. The car pulls so much harder and spools up so much faster when CEL is off and is actually better on fuel!! but wen it comes on. car drives fine but is only slightly faster feeling than stock. Just so that you guys know, the straight pipes are stupidly loud, as they are made of 3inch piping, they drone in the car and i am having them removed eventually. But i was thinking a map would get rid of the CEL right? or should i just get the Sensor spacers....i.e. http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod62...n-for-Porsche/
+1 for Ard. The number of possibilities is endless. Get the codes read, then decide what to do. Otherwise, we're just guessing, and you can throw a lot of money at the car without doing any good at all.

+1 for both above statements
If you don't have one, buy a durametric cable. It will let you read out these codes without having to take it to a shop. They are well worth the very small investment. Plus they let you know a ton of other things about your car

If your ecu is not flashed where the post o2s are not turned off then you will throw cels... and the car will not like it as you describe it...
