durametric readout for the tip

my durametric is saying it can't read or doesn't get through to the tip signal or whatever is goin on in there, and i apparently have the g 100 trans, thinkk that was the #, though a couple weeks ago i hooked it up and it read it, sent a bunch of fault codes and the previous owner told me that when battery is drained, which it was, the computers send false signals, but now i get no signal...whats up? tia,kk

Which version are you running. Version 6 can be troublesome on some computers. If you are having problems with version 5 try shutting down unwanted programs.
Instead of trying to connect with the Tip module first, try connecting to the ABS module then immediately try the Tip module. Some times the multiplex timing can get a bit lost / out of sync.
Older Lap tops especially Windows Vista can have a real problem with Durametric.I have bought a Windows 7 laptop with dual core i3 just so I can run my durametrics with less hitches.

Hi don't tell me you were using version 6 on vista, eek, that is the problem.
I bought my HP Vista lap top to run Durametric, after one year its now used buy guests in our B&B. I bought a Duel core, i3 hp laptop and its light years better.
I couldn't get version 6 to run properly at all. Also my computer would keep saying program " Not Responding".
Version 5 was Ok but I kept getting the same G100 Tip problems as you. As I said earlier open another module a few times such as ABS/PSM then try the G100 Tip module. it would be about 50:50 as to whether it would open. This is definitely a vista related problem . Its too resource hungry, I believe the processor stops for a fraction of a second, but that no good when Durametric talks to the cars modules using multiplexing a signal at the exact timing/synchronisation. Since my new lap top I have very few problems.

Version 6 Beta is far superior to version 5, there is much more 6 can do. If you have problems e-mail Owen Sutton at Durametrics for help and support osutton@durametric.com;
If you can afford a better laptop then IMO you should use version 6. For the time being version 5 on Vista will work, although with some minor hiccups.
