Advise on this listing (Florida car)

Hey guys! I've been a guest on 6speed for a while now and have appreciated everyone's insight thus far. I'm trying to wrap up a deal on 996 turbo which is on the opposite coast from me. The car is Florida, I'm in CA.

I've been reading up on a whole bunch of threads on things to look for prior to purchase. I'd prefer to pay an expert to check out the car for me. I'm assuming I would need to do a leak down and compression test and on and on. Does anyone have any Florida shop recommendations? btw, the car supposedly has exhaust and tune. I'm trying to figure out the tuner.

Does anyone recognize this car? Any feedback would be appreciated.

the closest reputable shop to the dealer is NGT motorsport (~2-3 miles)
It is more of a race team and not a garage. give them a call and see if they are willing to do a PPI
if not, you have Champion motorsports 25 mile away.
This dealer (Prestige) is a pretty high end dealer, and they are more active on the teamspeed forum.
no personal experience with them, but they always have nice cars on the lot.

I would not buy the car without knowing its tune.

There are alot of cars running around with "old" tunes from 2002-2007 that simply are not very good. Any modern tune from a reputable source will be safer and faster.

Those rims are indescribably heavy and will decrease the performance of the car.

Get some history, and if the car has more then just a flash, contact the tuner before you buy it.

Thanks for insight Alex. I reached out to both of them

Thanks Tom! I'm trying to find out the tuner by way of the owner who traded in the car. I'm starting to become more and more unsettled about a cross country car without the history at my finger tips.
Good point about the pig rims. I do personally like the look of them but I don't want to sacrifice performance.

Our busiest freeways are going to be shut down next weekend...Code name Carmeggeden. A trip to Miami would seems logical

Prestige is a good outfit. I've had friends who worked there and my neighbor is friends with the owner, Brett David. FYI, he's a young 20 something kid who took over when his dad passed away. I personally think they sell on the high side, but everyone I know who has purchased from them were happy. Also, they are less than 1 hour away from champion porsche, so asking them to take it there shouldnt be a deal killer.

Good luck

Unless it's exactly what you're looking for (and somewhat unique), it seems like there should be plenty to choose from on this coast. Just saying.

You are totally right! I got picture happy out of the gate and have since grounded myself. There are certainly enough listing within 200 miles of me and few I have started to work on.
