Turbo to Intercooler connections on blow-through setups

6speeders,

As the title states, I'm looking for info from those of you that have gone the blow-through route on your 996tts. If you look around on different vendors sites, you (or at least I) don't see much talk of how you connect the pressurized outlet of your turbo to the inlet of your intercooler. Assuming the intercooler has the factory Porsche style clips, are you sticking with the OEM rubber hoses? Breaking apart a Samco or other silicon hose kit? Doing something funky-cold-custom?

Please advise and perhaps post some pics! Thanks... and I did try the search button...

It is simple to purchase the right size hard pipes and silicone couplers to fab your own up. The internet is your buddy. Have the IC connection cut off, and weld the right size on. Make sure you get someone that can fab aluminum well, and don't forget to pressure test the IC's both before and after the mods. IC's can be a ***** to repair so make sure yours are 100% before the mods are done.

It really depends on the tuner and his kit... we for example sell the blow thru as a kit with out 4.5" Big ICs.. and it comes with 2.5" hard piping and all the silicone connections.... but if you have your own OEM fittings on some other ICs the bottom hose from turbo to IC can stay as is... whereas the bigger question is how are you going to connect the Y pipe up to whatever ICs you use.. once again, in our case we have a complete kit with bigger ICs... so no issues... we are able to make the Y pipe fit some other ICs but we need some aftermarket fitting that goes into the silicone hose like form samco, forge, etc...
