996/GT2 Hall of Fame

I got this crazy idea from Carnut (Cary) when he recently posted, "I remember when you initially posted those. I followed this thread from funcars to rennlist and finally to 6speed. I really think this thread alone has alot to do with the success of 6speed. Many people came over to this site to follow the thread."

The turbo/GT2 have come such a very long way compared to past Porsche models. I can remember not so long ago when 460 hp and a ROW suspension was the cat's meow. I believe there were a few individual efforts who finally placed the North American theater on par with the European theater.

These cars have had their limits pushed to extreme's and new heights time and again due to the efforts of many individuals. More can be done with the 996 platform than any other Porsche platform.

I would like to have the 6speedonline members suggest who they believe should be part of this of this Hall of Fame and why.

What about all the TTs in the first shootout. If it weren't for the friendly competiton than nobody would be where they are today. Plus many of the cars won different things at the shootout such as the road course or the drag or whatever. One could argue that Hershel's car should be in the hall of fame because it owned everyone on the road course and isnt that what we all preach about to Cobra Owners? Anyway in my opinion all the first shootout cars should be on the list.
