Battery Replacement - 30 lbs

OK, here are the final shots of my battery replacement. It saves over 30 lbs and drops the battery cg quite a bit. I used grommets going through the trunk wall so there should be no cable scraping sissues. I didn't want to go inside around the fuel tank so I ran the wires in front of it. I will tack those down, probably with velcro.

It is not easy to securely mount the battery in the stock compartment so this braket fits great in the car. I will bolt it through the trunk floor board.

The battery is a Odyssey 680, and yes I did cover the positive terminal.

Good for you. It looks clean too. I have had one bad experience
with this brand of battery: I got one for one of my garage
queens, and kept it on a good bttery tender. Nevertheless it
died, and I found out too late that Odyssey batteries need a
special charger/maintainer. A normal one won't do... I am
getting a replacement Odyssey, and getting the charger.

I agree. I have both the battery tender trickle charger (only good for maintenance charge3) but bought the battery tender (6 amp) that actually charges the battery.

how come it's not in the battery compartment.???looks sort of cobb job - no offense, mounting it in the trunk. A little fabrication and ingenuity mounts it where it should be...

I believe S-Cargo has a bracket for the Odyssey battery. Chad has it...

I agree with Rockitman ... looks very sloppy and dangerous too. Consider that you are doing this wiring right around the fuel tank. Here is how I did it on my GT3:

Shut off switch, bottom mounting plate and battery maintainer wiring. That's it.

The plate was machined and welded by S Car Go Racing.
