One final question for those daily drivers out there. How is the interior cabin noise? Especially in crusing? I'm fine and can appreciate a nice exhaust sound during full throttle, but for cruising I'd prefer as quiet a cabin as possible. It's the kind of thing that's hard to judge on a test drive since there are so many emotions going on during the driving.

I came across this article which lists the cruising (db) to be over 80, which seems excessive. Is the interior cabin noise really that bad at 70 mph?

For the kind of car it is, the cabin noise at cruise is pretty reasonable -- especially with stock exhaust. However, this has to be matched to your expectations. It's no Lexus or other luxury car in terms of cabin noise. You will hear the engine, even at cruising -- and remember that it's all coming from behind you in the 911 (engine and exhaust).

Whatever you do be sure to get a comprehensive, independent PPI on the car. There's a guy in Sweden, I think, who has over 300,000 miles on his so yes, these cars are very capable dd. I would keep your stock exhaust or make sure you get a quiet aftermarket one. If you're going to be lugging around large suit cases or such then you're going to have a problem. The Italian cars while being dead sexy are generally not nearly as reliable as these cars are. I've never been stranded in my 996tt (looking for wood to knock on).

I think the attention you'll receive in this car depends on where you live and the color of your car. I live in Kansas City and my car does get a lot more attention than I'd like and it's silver.
