the fronts, as i posted before are floppy loose when the car is off the ground. i just noticed as i was checking out possible sources for a persistent rattle from the 'area' north of the wheels in front that those same springs when loaded are, it looks to me, completely compressed and i would say they are not doing much springing/supporting... i'm thinkin new shocks, what do you all see when you look at these guys? are they the same and do they work as supposed to when they are pretty much one solid piece of metal? thanks ahead, kk

That is how the lowering springs are. The spring is shorter so when the car is lifted they seam loose. Also the coils are closer together so they clank on bumps. If you add anything it will directly raise the car.
-Are there clear plastic tubes on the top and bottom coils?
-How long ago did you get them?
This is what they have done to clear the problem. Here is a picture.

If you do not have the plastic tubes, they will help. I have tried adding them to older springs and it was no good but the new ones solved the problem.

i just bought the car in april and they were there, and yes, there are clear plastic tubes on them...seems like a poorly thought out/applied mod, i am thinking of taking them out and going with...what? pss9-10 or something else...what are the options while keeping it under a couple grand...and the car handles like s+++, floating, swaying around bumpy corners, i wouldn't trust it to push it any more than i have up to now...need to sort 'er out first...thanks for your response, i hadn't looked at the springs compressed before today and now the handling, or lack of, makes sense, looking forward to spending money...yuk and yuk yuk
