Even with the Stage 4 Duane it's tough to beat a Lingenfelter equiped Vette, speially if it had NOS. Most of these cars are just 1/4 cars anyway. In the twisties it's a different story. BTW it also depends on what lingenfelter package the Vette has. If it was there Twin Turbo package they start at 550HP and go all the way up to 900HP and with the FUNNY STUFF it's quite hard to take at any speed on a straight away. But like they say nothing like a PORSCHE

Lost due to driver's ability or car's ability?

P.S. I suck at drag racing. I'm definitely not flaming... Just curious.

P.S.S. Which two incidents?

acr viper worked. not sure how worked but he claimed he put a **** load of money in it. it took me by 3 car lengths and we did it twice. it didn't pull on me once we got it going, at least that's my perception. i did horrible launches which could explain at least 1-2 car lengths. i have 500 hp.

racer63,

"Lost due to driver's ability or car's ability? "

I guess we would have to meet up so you could make your own evaluation. No flame either.

I was beat by a stock supra and a stock viper. That's what they claimed anyway. Both incidents started at about 70 mph.

I don't think meeting up would help at all. Your car is faster. And your drag racing skills couldn't be any worse than mine.

Ok, if you were beaten by a truly stock Supra from 70 MPH and up, maybe we are close in skill.

But, somehow I doubt the guy's claim...

They are truly great vehicles for modding. But, a stock turbo (320 HP) versus a 700+ HP Twin Turbo?

The guy had to be lying. Or Chad was asleep at the wheel. The math simply cannot be overcome uness Chad's power curve is shaped like this:

*40 HP
*
*
***************** 700+ HP
*
*
*40 HP

P.S. Sorry for the poor graphics skills.

I meant to quote it totally curve. It be an engineering challenge to produce this kind of output.

Man I couldn't figure out how to do anything quick and dirty in the 6 speed editor. I guess my charting skills, at least on this forum, are even worse than my drag racing skills. I finally figured out how to make it look somewhat sensible in my last edit.

But, I guess both my original graph and the revised one depict the same basic problem (in both the power curve, and my graphing skills).

From a 40mph roll I've been beaten by my pal's 750rwhp Supra and another pals' C5 with a blower and 125 shot. Oh and a Busa totally killed me...

At the track (drag strip) I got beat by a rail car that ran 6.7 letting off half way, a nitro car and aformentioned C5 with slicks and skinnies.

Well how about the Lingenfelter H2:

Sixty mph arrived in 6.1 seconds, a 4.6-second improvement over stock. The quarter-mile slipped past in 14.5 seconds at 93 mph—better by 3.1 seconds and 15 mph. That's huge.

Highly modified MR-2 Turbo, with about 475RWHP @2600lbs, beat me pretty bad at the drag strip, I was catching him quickly in fourth gear.

he ran 11.30 to my 11.90,

He was set up specifically for 1/4 mile, where as mine was set-up twisties, and and all-around performance!

MR-2's are highly under rated, he was pulling off 1.54 60 ft times, with both front wheels well of the ground, for at least 50ft
