You both are in my prayers Alex. My father had that exact problem for while - definitely get at least two opinions on a solution.

To echo RufMD, DaveH and PMac, their advice is right-on. Actually, if you have access to a tertiary care center, it is best to go there.

As a doc who practices at a tertiary care center (and also has privileges at a small community hospital), I can tell you that both excellent care and poor care are given in every type of facility, but larger centers tend to have more safety nets for patient protection and higher levels of accountability of their doctors who have privileges there.

Medical care can be confusing, and if you need any help with what questions to ask, what dangers to avoid and the logisics of care, feel free to contact me.

Buddy and Sharkster:

Stay positive and let that positivity rub off on your loved ones.

Thanks so much folks for the kind words (I miss being around as much as usual so it was nice to check in)... we just got back from another bout of tests but at least they're letting her home so she seems pretty stable for now. They're doing some "stress tests" to see how she reacts but for now her EKG and so on are ok. Whatever it was that happened this past few days hasn't gotten worse and she has actually gotten a little better so I'm hoping that it stays that way. Will know more in a few days but as I was saying, she's stable enough to be at home and I'm just going to take some time off to take care of her for now....

Also Buddy, I'm so sorry to hear that about your wife's situation. I've got my fingers crossed for you both too.

Also thanks for the tips on the medical care stuff. You know it's funny we pay so darn much for medical care here and yet I really wasn't happy with the first consultation so I did get a second one (the first guy was just a bad apple I guess- or was having a bad day). I know you've all been there...

Sorry folks I've been quiet for the past few days and will likely be off for a while. My wife is pretty sick (heart related) and we're doing more tests this week in the hospital etc... Hopefully things will work out ok.

I've been slacking on Emails/PM's but if you need to contact Akkurat and I haven't yet gotten back to you just drop an Email to george@akkuratpgi.com or info@akkuratpgi.com for the next lil' while.

I'm sure I'll be back in action soon but if you've not yet had a response from me you know why... I'll try to get caught up on stuff as quick as possible when I get a chance.
My thoughts and prayers are with your wife and you. Hang in there buddy. I hope and pray she gets better soon.

Lou

Oh great, she's going to get a clean bill of health, then you'll be trolling for sex tips

I look forward to that.

(Seriously, I look forward to the clean bill of health part)
