Buying 2001 996 TT this week. Guidance needed
SubscribeHey guys,
I am hopefully going to own my 1st Porsche by the end of the week. I have identified a 2001 996 TT with 22,000 miles on it. I believe the car has all the Options including Nav and Carbon Fiber (missing sport seats though). Remainder of the warranty till the end of the year.
I will be driving it weekends in good weather only so maybe 3K miles a year. No plans to race it at the track but will probably do some cosmetic (wheels) and minor performance mods (ECU, exhaust etc.)
- What should I check for before buying this car? Any "quirks" or problems areas I should look for?
- Should I get it Porsche certified (It is at a Porsche dealer)? Pros, Cons? $2500 extra I think.
- Any other guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.
For some reason I am unable to reply to any posts on this forum so please be as detailed as possible with your suggestions. I would love to chat with someone if you are inclined to lend me your ear. I can be reached at 859-912-3677
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Hey Raza if I were you I would spend the money and get it Porsche Certified. When you take these cars in the bills can add up pretty fast and you will always know that you are protected just in case. I have a 03 TT that I keep in sandusky by Cedar Point I sort of live there. If you have any questions or anything feel free to contact me. We should meet up sometime I live in Columbus most of the time and maybe we could meet halfway or something. I sometimes have family friends that live in Cinci but they are normally in florida now. Anyway Best of luck i'm sure you will really love that car. My name is Bill just give me a call and ill do whatever I can to help you out. I also know some dealers up in cleveland and columbus if you want to look at cars around there.
Congradulations in advance

This car isn't located in TX, is it? Or perhaps it came from just outside the Dallas area? I remember looking at a 2001 with those wheels and options back in March of 2003. I wonder if I still have the paperwork/VIN # that they faxed me...
