Just Finished Detailing My Car (pics included)

As some of you may know, I've been having some trouble whilst working on my car recently

Whenever I get frustrated I find the best thing to do is take a break and give the car a good cleaning

Last weekend I sheared the header bolts off in my cylinder head!

Maximum frustration tends to lead to maximum detailing

Let me know what you think.....

Me likey shiney

Looks real good, how long does it stay that nice? What shape was it in before you started?

Thanks guys

I find cleaning to be therapeutic, and I'm in real need of that whilst fighting with my exhaust

As far as products go, I use the following.....

Meguiars clay bars
Rotary polisher
Chemical Guys 5.5" Hex Logic pads (white and black)
Meguiars 105 & 205 polishes
Collinite 845 wax

The polishes and pads listed give the best finish, whereas the wax is the most durable I've found, if not quite the deepest gloss - (durability is more important in the UK)

Hope that's of some use - if you need anymore info just let me know

The car wasn't in bad shape when I started, it just had a few swirl marks I wanted to get rid of

I've never tried AutoGlym waxes

I used their polishes before though
The finish was good, but I found they 'dust' too much when you remove them
They're also not as easy to use as the Meguiars products

Wow, you finish down with a rotary/205/black pad? I get buffer marks when I try to finish with a Lake Country white pad and a similar finishing polish, AND A DA! The black Porsche paint is SOOOO soft, i can get a swirl in it from the wind! I now finish down with a lake country black pad (super soft) and Menzerna 106FA on a DA. Been working well with me. Love the Collinite 845!! Use it on my daily driver and it lasts FOREVER.

Yeah, I can remove every mark using the products I mentioned

How come you were getting holograms with a DA?

Just incase you haven't tried it yet - As well as waxing your paint, you can also apply Collinite on your calipers, wheels, exhaust tips, headlights, and even your windows and mirrors!

If you haven't tried that with it yet you have to give it a go next time!
