So how do these systems sound compared to the Akropovic system. As a person that has not heard one before my preferance is the Akro just because of past history with Akro's.

I have not heard the Akrapovic system in person, but I have heard videos. It's a newer system and has not been around for too long, so between the extremely high price (compared to average 996TT exhaust prices) and length of time on the market, it's a very rare find. From video - the sound appears to be similar to our X-cellerator cross-flow, as they use an internal cross-flow muffler on their 996TT system, same as we do. Akra does not offer different sound levels, pipe size or catless options. It also uses a larger piping than our quiet version, but less than our full 3", so I have a good idea of the sound - we tested that pipe size in our prototype stage. It is titanium, which may give it a different tone than stainless steel. It is unlikely any of us will hear one anytime soon, as the Akra systems retail for $7,000-$11,000, depending where you shop. There is approx. a 5 lb. difference between the SpeedTech 996TT X-cellerator and the Akra 996TT system, with the Akra being the lighter of the two. Both the SpeedTech and the Akra shave approx. 30 +/-lbs. off the OEM system, with the Akra being slightly lighter.

The Akrapovic is painfully overpriced and all hype. They look for the market that foolishly spends money for the name. There is such a minimal performance gain - wieght primarily that they are clearly not worth it. I wouldn't even compare them due to that factor alone. You must have money to burn to even consider it.

Ok so I picked up my 2.5 Quiet from my "friends" @ Sportec today, although its been on the car, I have never heard it, they tell me its loud and looking at that 3 inch piping I really will find it difficult to believe it doesnt drone on a Tip, anyway I will have to wait a couple of weeks still, while I get the car through its MFK type approval (with an OEM exhaust). I am keeping my Europipe as a standby for now just in case

My car is a 6speed but I drive like a little old lady. Spending all my cruising in the 1900-3200 range. Most times around 2200 rpm. It's very minimal and by far the best I've owned. If this isn't quiet enough for most they should stick to either stock or ep stage one. Just my opinion.

I have all my sound proofing removed from inside the engine bay and inside the car lets see, am looking on the positive side
