We will have a novice group for all the folks who have never tracked. I highly recommend you try it as you will be with other porsche owners and everyone will be cautious in the novice group. Plus we will have instructors for the novices.

So take my word and others that this is an opportunity you should jump on to really see what your car can do and also improve your driving skills.

So go for it ! ;-)

C4S Cabriolet?

I noticed a pic of a cabriolet in the picture of the first page. Since i drive a similar car I was wondering if I can track mine even if it doen't have a roll bar/cage. If allowed, count me in!

Porsche cabs are allowed at Buttonwillow because they have the pop up bars.

Does buttonwillow charge to get into the compound, if you're not driving? I know willow springs does.

c4bliss May 15, 2005 10:30 PM

both times we have been to button, both as participants and as well as spec, only the driver got in free. Anyone not driving, or just to watch will be charged... that is our experience

GT3 Chuck May 15, 2005 11:10 PM

Jeff & Robert

I was just at Buttonwillow yesterday, a Friday test day. Our meet will also be on a Friday. I had to check in at the gate and sign in. I told them I was pit crew and didn't have to pay anything. Only the driver's had to pay to get track time. It is different on a race day like today. I have always been charged a few bucks to get in on a race day even to just watch...

LTBL: It doesn't pay to be a voyeurhilarious

Gramicci101 May 16, 2005 12:30 AM

Thanks Chuck, I'll just say that I'm the photographer for the porsche event, then.

My good friends at ClearArmor
will do a special discount for the folks doing the track day. This price applies to all cars.

I have the clear armor stuff on my old TT, RS6 and M3 and many of my friends have them. They do all the Pcars at Carlsen too.

Since the drive to Buttonwillow will be 4 hours long from the BayArea and then racing at the track, I highly recommend folks get this done prior to the event.

Normal cost is $1200. They will offer 25% discount for a total of $900. Please contact Simon at syiu@cleararmorinc.com if interested
