Price check
Im looking at a few cars, but this one has peaked my interest due to options and miles:

At this price, a 997TT is not far off. What are your thoughts?

This is a not a bargain but very close. (if it had an aero kit, PCCB and Sport seats then it would be a steal). Given the options, miles and price, this must have been someones garage princess. Perhaps it might have some little issues (RMS etc) but these are minor compared to the issues with a higher milage car. Work the price down a bit and buy it. White cars are hard to find.

I'd get a 997TT.
Here is one for just a few grand more. It has more miles but at least you know what it was run and serviced on time.

I think you are right about the asking prices increasing. I would not be surprised if the 996TT's have more or less bottomed. The 996TT is amongst the best performance car bargains out there. The biggest problem is they made too many of these cars which caused them to depreciate.
If you are prepared to spend $70K, I'd look at the 997TT though. Haven't seen this in person, but the price is in your ballpark. http://www.maseratiofnewportbeach.co...CD29918S788348
You can detail a car, paint it, rebuild it, mod it.... you can do everything, EXCEPT take off miles.
If you MUST have a crazy low mile car- if you are a collector who will add this to a garage with 25 other specimens, then it is priced fine. (Indeed a collector should be relatively price insensitive.)
Or if this is precisely what you've been seeking - color and option wise- for a year, bite the bullet.
But it is over-priced for a buyer just looking for a decent, lowish mile TT that they will drive 10k a year for the next 5 years.

PS That original owner spent $17.60 per mile to drive those 4490 miles. (Of course that calculus lets him look at it in the garage for free....)
