Rear Tire Liner

Having some rubbing issues with 335s on the rear of the my 04 Turbo. I was able to get clearance in the rear of the tire well, but seem to have rubbing at the front as well. If I heat it to bend it in some, it will no longer reach the current points where the bolts attach. Is there any negative to removing the front portion of the liner or trimming a portion of it out with a dremel?
