My dear swiss friend, how true! ...but that is why we have 6speed to show us the real stuff out there!! Sportec simply isn't worth it... I can't imagine anyone paying these prices, which are quite simply ridiculous! All they are good for are the custom tunes, the rest is (relatively speaking) garbage! I bet a full Protomotive built car would "assrape" an spr1 any day of the week, in every discipline!

Sorry for OT, just had to rant....! These guys get on my nerves. Enjoy your exhaust.

PS: I have their wheels on an audi of mine, cracked like a **** when I hit a tiny pothole (keep in mind potholes don't really exist in Switzerland)... Made in China... :roll eyes: ...oh and they didn't come up for one cent!

I always lusted after the Sportec wheels on the cover of Adrian's book 996. Those too are Chinese? I thought they would be a high quality Swiss cast and machined wheel.

I'm afraid to have to say... it isn't so.

I am getting ready to get this installed and was looking at the Sportec website. I looked at the 997TT page and lo and behold there's a picture of my exhaust. So even though I was told it came out of a 996, I'm not so sure it did or that it will fit. I guess the good news is a custom exhaust shop will be doing the work so they could modify t if needed.

Just spoke to the exhaust guy and nope it doesn't fit. Looks like I'll be selling it to a 997TT owner.

Really?

That looks exactly like the exhaust on my 2004 911 turbo!

Did your exhaust guy say what does not fit? Th intake and exhaust locations look correct for a 996 turbo.

Yeah he measured and it's no go. I just got off the phone with him. I'll probably just have a custom one made and hopefully selling the Sportec will help offset the cost.

If you know a 997TT owner looking for a high end valved exhaust send him my way!

I think the cats would be fine, and the can could be mounted, but the outlets are wrong. The exhaust guy said it would be a hack to make them fit.

Sorry for the bad luck John. Interested in a Milltek? PM or call if you are.

Thanks Gunther. It's not a big deal to me really. I have the car at a local shop and they are going to make an exhaust for me. I'm already into them for labor and cats so they might as well finish it. I decided on 100 cell cats and small mufflers in an x design with 3" pipes and custom tips. He was pushing me to go catless but I can't have it too loud in my neighborhood!

When did you remove the Miltek? What did you replace it with?

It is still on the car but would like to try something new. I really like the sound of Markski's exhaust.

I hope you like your end product!
