Evoms V-flow: sock or no sock?

Evoms V-flow: sock or no sock?
I currently have the vflow on my car, and got to wondering about the "sock" that it comes with to go over the filter? It's supposed to be a pre filter kind of thing... I haven't read much on if people are keeping it on or taking it off, so that's why I pose the question. I'm wondering if it is causing any unnecessary resistance to flow? Thoughts? Comments?

Not sure but easy to test it.. Way back in the day we used the sock on jetski's, the sock is water repellent. To test it take the sock turn it inside out and fill with water. If the water does not pass though that's its job. To keep the filter dry and working as designed not a pre filter. If it does not repel the water I would not use it and stay on top of the filter with cleaning or replacing.

the sock is for the non oiled filters.....if it is an older v-flow(no sock) it a
came with a pink oiled filter which caused maf issues by leaving an oily film on the maf filament.The sock was for the newer dry filter(white) both for water and added dust protection.
