Escort Smartcord Live

Has anyone tried the Escort Smartcord Live on their Passport radar detector? I was looking at it, but haven't seen any feedback yet from people who have tried it.

I called Escort to inquire about this and they told me my 8500 is not compatible.

This cord is all fine, but they should come up with a hardwire version of some sort as well. It bothers me to have a cable tangling in the middle of the dashboard.

Escort should come out with a remote display unit, like Valentine 1 offers.
I have the Passport 9500ix and I want to hardwire it and place it where the rear view mirror is. But I can't do that without having a remote unit to show me the frequency and have a mute button...

I am considering going with their new Passport 8500ci fixed unit.
