Curb Rash repair...

Looking to get my 2001 996TT wheels repaired. 3 of them have minor curb rash (prior owners!! LOL). Anyway, does anyone have any experience with these mobile units (Phoenix AZ)? I'm concerned that the repair will consist of only grinding and blending the rashed areas down (vs adding some material...THEN blending it, prior to paint). I'm not sure that is going to look right.

Thanks!

use a qualified shop...it will cost more but the wheels will look good as new...you will probably want the 4th wheel cleaned up too so it won't look bad compared to the other three...any race shop in your area can tell you who is qualified

mobile shops can do it either way. u just have to ask. minor marks are usually sanded without use of filler.

Worked with Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists in Phoenix. They came out to evaluate my wheels and suggested that they do them in the shop so they could TIG weld material (if required) and also so they could powder coat clear (vs spray on clear). They picked up the wheels, and I had them delivered back to me in less than 24 hours.

They look absolutely PERFECT. Came back clean, remounted and rebalanced. Flat fee of $125/wheel. I'm VERY pleased and can definitely recommend them without reservation. Can't post a pic...sorry.
