Ferrari 360

Hey Guys,

I was a bit surprised by the responses to the thread about the guy looking for a modified TT that had a 360. It seems that a lot of people here like those cars. Why? What about that car is desirable??

Not starting anything here, just looking for peoples perspective.

Thanks!
Roy

The fact that the car is drop dead gorgeous might be a factor.

I always wanted a 360 spider even before my first TT!!
I know a TT is more powerful, reliable, handling, etc...BUT I was at a light the other day next to a 360 coupe and he got all the attention and was asked to 'rev' it up I felt like I did not exist!
Nothing beats the looks, sound or exclusivity of a Ferrari - spiders still going over MSRP whereas our TT vlaues have depreciated more than most other cars!!

vrus...

That 993TT below the 360 is also very beautiful!!!

Folks...if you ever get the chance to drive one...do so. I can't say everyone will instantly fall in love with the car, but I sure did! The sound, handling, exotic looks...

I agree there is nothing like owning a Ferrari. However I would not give my tt up if I could only have one car. I do not like the low torque that the Ferrari puts out. Awesome car though and if and when I can own both that would be sweet!

i'm not personally a fan of the aesthetics of the 360. i don't own one. but the performance and handling are surely nothing to sneeze at.

and lest we blast all f-cars as torque-less eunuchs, do keep in mind that the 8 cylinder cars are built specifically for that high-torque twitchiness; and the 12 cylinder cars have gobs of torque wherever you please it to be .

the ferrari's powerband is not an inherent weakness, it just means you have to adjust your driving style if you want to be fast. The normal 360 doesn't do a whole lot for me but the Challenge Stradale is sex on wheels

The short answer -- Driving a Ferrari is a very visceral experience. The smell of the leather, the noise of the engine... It feels more exciting. Not better. Not worse. Just very very different. I was a skeptic for years, but as soon as I bought one became a big fan of the brand. This is not to say driving a P-car can't be beyond exciting too, it is just a totally different experience. As different as Jazz is to classical...

I love ferrari's but it more of a second car,, you really cannot drive it everyday and abuse it, like you can a porsche. I rented a 360 in miami for a few days...and I loved it but yuo really have to rev the sh$t out of it...I litterally had first gear enaged all the way up to 55 mph....I had to constantly down shift to get power. You cant cruise around in second all day long like you can a porsche... The sound threw tunnels and over passes are worth the price of admission alone. Plus 360's are much more roomier than 355's. Im 6'3.. Plus women go nuts when see ferrari's...it worked for me in florida!

My dad had a 355, it not only sounded amazing but the attention it gets is INSANE, even my old TT got looks, but nothing compared to a Ferrari..

I've been in 360's and know a handful of people with them that will tell you its the best car they've ever owned (one of them has said it owns his Diablo 6.0 in drivablity).

I'll buy a 360 eventually, or a 575..
