My dash has leather badly wrinkled near window. Porsche wants $4800 plus labor for new. Does anyone know if there is better,i.e., cheaper, solution. Thanks

He is a wizard with leather.
Maybe not the most convenient for you, but probably cheaper than the stealer. Or find a well respected local upholsrty shop.

wow $400? Mine is black. Is it a common problem? Year is 2001 Turbo
Also, I'm wondering if I need to keep it covered in the sun so it doesn't get worse? I saw one where the leather shrunk and exposed the dash whereas mine just wrinkled badly. the black color may be the problem but it is a common Porsche interior color.
so far as I know it was always garaged but I suppose one long trip on a hot sunny day summer day might really stress it, but then again on balance they seem to hold up in Arizona and Nevada too?
