What is my Max Horsepower?
What is my Max Horsepower?
Many are wondering what my max HP/TQ numbers are. My car weighed 3240lbs at the Texas Invitational. It dyno'd 750/733 at 5400rpm at 23# the day before I left for the event. That's compared to 644/629 at the same RPM with more boost #26 a month before TI. The clutch started to slip on the dyno (as you can see) so we never got a clean dyno. Then, at the event, the clutch didn't slip at all. It was weird for sure. So, here is the dyno. My redline is 7800 and I made 861hp at 26# last month with 80lb injectors. I now have 110lbers. So, maybe someone can extrapolate what my max HP/TQ numbers are if the run would have been completed. Anyone?

Based on your P-box graphs (and comparing your times to Joe's times and my old 996TT times), I'm guessing around 850. Remember that SAE J1349 correction baselines at 77 degree temps, 0 percent humidity, and 29.23 in/hg. Temps were significantly higher at the event and more humid, which caused you to be down on power compared the numbers you put down on the DJ at the same boost levels.

At TI I was running 30-32# of boost though. Which is 3-5#'s more than I was running when I made 861hp. My guess is somewhere nearer to 950-975.
Honestly, the P-box times don't match those numbers at all. Joe was consistently hitting high 3's 100-150 at 975 rwhp. My 996 was hitting 4.5s at 880 rwhp. You were hitting 5.2's in Texas. All three cars were within 100lbs of one another. I think you were making 850ish at best that on that particular day.
850 in a 3200 lb Porsche (in crap temps) is a fast f'ing car, bro.

I think Steve's Dynojet is a hearbreaker. My tip NEVER dyno'd over 550 on that dyno.
But we can't compare my 5.2 100-150 as it was done from a 60 roll. Remember though I hit 4.41 100-150 at 861hp from a 35 roll. And at the same power level, my best 100-150 from the Texas Mile was 6.14s. That's 1.5 sec slower than if I dedicate a run for 60-130 and 100-150.
Since I am running the Houston Mile this Saturday, we can see what she does now. I will run a dedicated 60-130 from a 35 roll as well so we'll have data up to 180+.

Todd your car is defiantly fast no doubt about it! As for power I can tell you from you 80lb injectors dyno's and times you were making around the same power Chris was making when he was stock motor. He made 866rwhp on a dynojet, ran a 4.8sec 60-130 and trapped 149mph in the 1/4mile, you made 861rwhp on a dynojet, ran a 4.8sec 60-130 and trapped 148.3mph in the 1/4mile. Dyno, times, and mph almost identical.
With the new injectors you are defiantly making more power as it showed a big increase in power. How much power no one really knows till you get the clutch problem fixed and the car's tune 100%. We have found the max Chris turbos would make was 1150rwhp with his gtx3582 with .82 A/R, The car would make that power at 36psi, we then turned her up 1 pound same power all the way to 41psi and never got above 1150rwhp. We have since changed the A/R on the turbos to a 1.06 and are shooting for 12XXrwhp. So I beleave depending on your turbo size and A/R you can make between 10XXrwhp to 12XXrwhp. But theres only one way to find out.
Chris and I will have are own personal dyno installed and running in the next month, your more than welcome to bring it down and make some pulls.

I saw same thing and it is look like intake system become restrictive.
I will run some 186+ passes this weekend to see if i can get new 100-300kph times.
That's amazingly similar numbers Matt. I'm looking forward to running this weekend to get new data. Then, new clutch time.

Thats weird because my car went 130-190 mph in 6.1 secs so im not sure where u got that time.As im typing this i realized u meant 62mph -186 mph.
Yea Joe, your 62-186 time is staggering.
