Headlight washer reinstall @^#$#

I order two new plastic caps for my headlight washers. Figured I'd do the job by the book and remove the whole assembly. Seems easy enough. Well, try putting the thing back together?!?!? This is near impossible!! Did anyone else go through this? This is the procedure btw:

I had to put it away because I was about ready to toss the headlight through the window LOL!

Any tips that make this easier? Seems like the small parking light is the one that really gets in the way.

I replaced one on my Targa in about 25 seconds. I used a pair of needle nose pliers, pulled up on the squirter, took old one off and popped the new one on. Really, no BS.

Yeah, that's the way to do it. I read somewhere that you shouldn't pull it up because there is a motor in there, so I disassembled the whole thing. Let me tell ya, not a good idea! Besides, if you take it out, you still have to pull it up to remove the squirter and it just seems like a spring to me. On the upside, I've gotten pretty familiar with these headlights over the last week LOL

In any case, mission accomplished but it took a while!

it helps to have help. you need to activate the stalk so that it extends the nozzle mechanism. then grab it with needlenose as someone just suggested, and it will snap into place. having said all that. i WATCHED my tech do it. elapsed time... 15 secs give or take. GL w it.

Now that I know the whole mechanism inside out, this is the way I would do it as well. The procedure in the video is good but re-installing the black plastic piece where the squirter rests in is tricky since you have to do it from the inside of the headlight with limited space.

Anyway, I managed to get it installed late last night and everything is put back together. The car looks almost brand new again
