Indeed! I love flying under the radar with a 550 hp car. I can leave my car unlocked with the windows down because there'll probably be a Gallardo or a DB9 parked next to it!

All I ever got was an old lady doing a walkaround, and then telling me how lovely it was.

Luckily never had a real problem with this, and I live in the Philadelphia region. My cousin and I went to a friend's house in his 328xi and I forgot my phone in the car. When I was walking back to his car, two punk asses were standing around it. One had a key in his hand and I asked what they were doing but the one friend said stupidly replied "I was just showing him how to actually key a car, we didn't actually do it!" I told them to get the hell out of there and they just ran away.

I usually only pull the Turbo out to go on a drive.
I've gotten that a few times already... I always park out way WAY away from everyone and some dumb 16 year old kid parked right next to me in Target the other day... d-bag.

But so far after 3 weeks of ownership (and owning a SY in Nebraska - a place where a C-Class merc turns heads) i've gotten thumbs up from kids on bikes and ricers alike and yesterday a bunch of teen girls in a beetle screamed "I like your car". So far all my encounters have left a smile on my face save for the parking lot.

Maybe people in the midwest are nicer? *knock on wood so next week I don't get keyed*

My door has been keyed before on the 996tt, and the hood on my GTI has been keyed before. I have also had drunk photoshoots of friends and 6speed member's girlfriends without my knowledge.

dailydriver is infamous around these parts
Some d-bag actually stole the front plate off of my car when we were parked downtown having dinner. It was just the plain black plastic plate with raised Porsche lettering. Nothing fancy so I was pretty surprised someone stole it. I noticed my hood emblem was getting a little loose, so I went ahead and tightened that up in hopes of preventing a recurrence.

Which car to bring is part of my route/trip plan. If I knew I'll park at a so so place, I'll bring a car that I'll be careless if someone had done something to it.

I'm in waaayy upstate NY so my car sticks out like a sore thumb (even though it costs less than most of the Ford F250s and F350's driving around). No one has sports cars up here, let alone a German sports car. So people tend to act pretty weird around it. A lot thumbs up and stuff but also a lot rednecks on rice rockets talking crap while I'm trying to pump gas

When I first got my car back in 04, since then, I had the entire drivers side keyed (most of it buffed out), Turbo emblem ripped off (so drove a "Turb" since the O broke), passenger side keyed but that completely buffed out, and drivers side tires slashed.

So yea, my car has been messed with many times when I was living in Ellicott City, MD.

Now I live in Hawaii, and the only thing that happened was a girl backed her POS camouflaged truck over my drivers fender and hood while I was right behind her. She took off, I got her tag number and called the cops. The cops found her and she parked at Walmart, and acted like nothing happened. Of course this happened one week after getting my car shipped here.

lol i'm with you there. When I drove it back from DC a few weeks ago at 100% of my gas stops in West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa I was met by a redneck wearing either no shirt or shoes coming up to talk about the car. But everyone was very friendly and polite...

Except the meth head that jumped out in front of me on a two lane highway in some national park in West Virginia without shoes or a shirt on screaming "it's not my fault it's not my fault" and proceeded to try and rip my door handle off as he tried to get in my car.

Tech tip: if man flags you down for help is foaming at mouth - don't stop.
