As someone who is in the paint/restoration business as a professional, the biggest problem I have with DIY kits like these is the lack of proper sealant as a last step.
Headlights like these come with a factory coating over them to act as a protective layer. When you abrade the surface with a wet sanding process, you are removing this coating. I can tell you without a doubt that unless some sort of coating is re-applied, the lenses WILL fade out again. It is not a question of if, but rather when. Most of the time within 6 months you will see the hazing start to return, sometimes sooner depending on climate.
Spar urethane is a good choice for a replacement coating, and there are a few other companies out there that offer similar products. Optimum Polymer Technologies offers a product called Opti Coat which can also be used.
Not trying to knock your product, but if I were you I would seriously look into supplying a small bottle of a good coating with the kit. Otherwise, IMHO it is incomplete.

Just posted a thread on this last night. Another option is to install a 3M or Lamin-X type of protection on the headlight. I do agree that most coatings provided aren't durable enough. I've used a DIY kit on our Mercedes SUV a few years ago and it's still holding but that vehicle sits in the garage most of the time and only gets driven maybe once a week (meaning little sun exposure).
On lights as expensive as the Porsche ones, you want to do it right, that's for sure!

@SpeedFreak2000 We do recommend that you use a Lamin-X product after your head lights have been refinished, to keep them looking like new for years to come. Since the 996 lights do have a fading issue when exposed to the sun for periods of time, this is a good idea to do right afterwards. There are many color options that you can also use if you prefer.
