Guys, need some help. im lost.
Guys, need some help. im lost.
my abs/psm light is on. error code 4200.
i replaced the wiring harness on the passenger side (it WAS damaged). i replaced the speed sensor 5 minutes ago.
the code does not clear.
the second i click on "erase fault memory" it comes right back.
what should i do next ?

Update: my abs isn't working (I have flat spots on my tires to prove it)
However, my psm seems to be working. ( I was not able to do a burnout or slide the car in 1st , I didn't try to do donuts because that would be dumb
Also, my cruise control light doesn't come on. (Not sure if that's coincidental. Duramteric threw a clutch pedal switch code

Ok, We changed the harness. Old one was damaged right at the first grommet. We were getting continuity too! Thanks JP!! We change the wheel sensor as we could not get any ohms out of it and trashed it trying to get out. If it did not need replacing it sure need it after it came out.
Steve the psm is a different system. it uses a sensor that reads g's, steering angle and wheel speed. The psm maybe reading all four wheels. Remember the harness went back into the car behind the battery and now its working again. Need to get the car on a pwis.

UPdate: We got a hold of a PWIWS. it showed an open circuit on the front right speed sensor. No faults on the control unit/abs system.
It did not clear.
We then tried a direct tap into the control unit, (we wired another speed sensor directly intot he unit to see if the code would still be there.... it was...
nothing is working, the pwiws says its not the abs control unit.
what do you guys think ?
any chance it could be my ECU ?

i took it to an Indy who has a PWIWS (he's also been a top porsche mechanic since the 90s).
the car isnt worth the price of what the dealers are going to charge me for looking at it.
if its a $5k part (which im being told it is), i might as well trade the car in against a 997tt.
i was hoping to keep this car until winter is over, as im moving to boston for 6 months this october.

i am. i was supposed to have a new car already.
ive put 10k miles on my car since oct 2011. I'll put another 10k miles from oct 1-end of april.
the other reason i dont have one now is because Tim can't do what he wants to do with it until the end of winter.

I am into the wiring diagram. Your model year?
I saw that you've tried to connect the sensor directly into the ABS control unit to the pins A4 and A5 and could not erase the signal. That is good troubleshooting but remember the computer are measuring resistance and not exactly open or closed circuit. In some case you need to have an exact resistance (+or- certain value) to get an healthy signal. I just hope the complete wire going to the wheel is in good shape....
