Love that turbo kick (opposite of turbo lag?)

I had a great opportunity to test drive another 991 yesterday (about a 30-minute drive through wide open and winding roads). This time, it was a 991S Cab. Again, I really enjoyed the car. My favorite part is the PDK transmission (I could downshift all day with that rev matching). If I decide to get one in the future -- it will be a very tough call whether to go full manual, which I always enjoy working, or take the PDK. Also, contrary to some other's experiences, I didn't feel anything negative about the E-steering.

However, when I got back into my 996TT, I had to admit that I must have become addicted to the feeling that comes with the turbos kicking in (maybe the opposite of turbo lag?). For example, in both cars, I floored it in 3rd gear from about 50 mph and it was no comparison -- I loved the feeling of power and acceleration when my turbos kicked in. Maybe to properly drive the NA 991, I should have downshifted to accelerate from that speed? I do realize that equivalent NA power is probably better and can be modulated more precisely for performance on the track -- but do you guys feel the same thing I'm talking about here?

Sounds like I'm going to have to wait until the 991 turbos come out .

The 996T is a beast especially when you have some bigger spoolers pumping some more air (and fuel). It's a surprise every time you hit that go pedal.
