Agreed. I ordered a porsche trickle charger from Sunset Porsche and she remains plugged in when not being driven. Keeps my red top fully charged!

So it appears my accumulator is leaking. I had thought it was just because it was loose but after tightening I backed the car out of the garage for a wash and fluid was pouring out from underneath (pentosin). I am under the impression from my searching that the failure of this piece is common. There has been no clutch issues before I notice the intial leak under the car but when I backed it out today clutch was very stiff until the car fired. Given the above data, is there any other course of action I should take besides ordering a new accumulator (and I have read the issues of just replacing it vs. in addition to slave cylinder)? Also, is it common for the "failure" to occur so suddening without any other symptoms? Perhaps it is the o-ring seal? Thanks.

yeah, they can "go" just like that. your idea to switch the accumulator without further diagnosis or additional concern about replacing the slave is solid. it's rubber, they fail and are cheap. as long as you have no fluid migration/leaking in the front of the car under the bonnet. then the slave is also suspect.

There is a o-ring between the accumulator and the slave. I cannot see it on the parts catalog because it is supply with the accumulator when purchase. But if you can found the proper size and ,important pentosyn resistant, you should just start by replacing this o-ring.

Yes....you mean like this little bastard??

Where can I get one? Someone suggested McMasters. I'll also check local P-dealer.

Mine was out and I didn't even notice it. Covered under extended warranty but if for any reason I have to pull the engine, I'll do the GT2 slave conversion.

For those that may need it, the Porsche PN for the o-ring is 999-707-224-40.
