I might really need one! My mother in law drives my kids to school and various activities so in a moment of weakness, I decided to buy her a new car. I don't want my precious little guys riding around in a old stinky car ('97 Camry with smelly a/c due to condensation problems) so I bought a new '05 Camry V6 XLE for her three months ago and so far she has rear ended my wrought iron gate 3x. The last time she did it, she knocked it off it's track and bent the hell out of it not to mention the damage to her rear bumper. New $27k car + $8k ornamental gate + moment of weakness = priceless.

Maybe a trip to the eye doctor for her would be a better use of the money......

Do they make one that covers the whole car except for the windows? That would really be cool and protect the car at the same time! :-)

I actually thought of a similar device that is made of styrofoam and locked into the hood/trunk. It'll be useful for those times when you park parallel in the city to avoid bumper scratches.

I think these are meant for the same purpose. As long as they aren't left on the car when driving, I don't see a reason for not having one. What's the website? I'd like to see how it is hooked to the fender.
