Mark what power level was that at with the tip swap?
My Milltek has a nice 2.5" O.D. radius bent pipe coming out of muffler then channels down to a 2.200 I.D. for a 1" length to fit tips.

take your car in 3rd to 7K and you will probably hear it struggle(makes a unique sound)... the Miltek Tomas had did... 1.4 bar on 18gs...
It all starts to add up when we are trying to make power... for 600whp its ok...

Ben Moore's car did about the same 60-130 at approx 650-670 whp & his TT was probably heavier.

Your Turbos were the old school Garret 30's & I honestly am not sure what there proven capability is.

Your car was never dynoed except at TX2K at 599whp,not sure if that was a fluke or not.

The 800whp is just your guess. I know you keep saying that Akram & Todd guesstimated 800 but thats what it was a guess, because we both know how much guesstimate's can be off.

I am not busting your chops just trying to get the story straight.
Paulie: that 60 to 130 time was on a stock intake w/ small IC's and no breathing mods. Since then I had another $12K in mods (full blow through, 5 inch ICs, TB, plenum, full 3 inch exhaust new injectors etc.) I has every possible bolt on that one can put on a stock motor.

My car dynoed at 660 when I ran that 5.79, and on a stock intake. There is absolutely no comparison to the car now, then before, I picked up 140 hp from all the subsequent mods.

I beat Erics car which dynoed 735, and that was before the new injectors and full 3 inch BBI exhaust.

I explained this to you before, I think your memory might need assistance.

Just because you keep telling the same story does not make it true. I have stated these facts before, but you seem to want keep believing your story without any facts to back it up. Please just post the 800whp dyno & I will apologize for any mis information.

Every exhaust compared to straight pipes is restrictive.

We have build and tested our own X-flow 76mm exhausts and they were more restrictive than our regular 70mm EP2.

The reason is simple, the opening right in the middle of the X is way too narrow. The airflow get choked as both 76mm sides have to go through one 76mm hole in the middle of the X.

Besides that the gasses have to make a very short and extremely sharp U-turn. Nothing worse than that according to aerodynamic laws.

..I agree with you..
But others swear on their findings with the X types?
IF I ever change my exhaust to a X type , I will do it on the dyno..

Although their are some that have a wider connection joint than the one pipe size or they do have a complete separate bend from each pipe..

I think the few companies that make the X are not all identical in making them. Some X connections are a lot smaller then others because of how they make the X... Common sense tells you that the X is more restrictive then straight thru yet a 6speed member did a back to back on A3076s dynos with straight pipes and with our full 3" X pipe with 4 mufflers no cats and it produced same HP results( a few psi restriction but that's expected). With that said, and I do not want to steal a thread, but I have a handful of dynos ranging from 1100whp to 700whp on 3" full X exhaust. Not discounting any other findings or comparisons but here is a dyno on our own 997 with a 3" on A3076s at 1.8 bar peak. We have not tried any other exhaust on this set up therefore I can only verify what we did... does not look restrictive to me( HP goes UP as RPMS go up)... and that is with 4 custom built 4.5" mufflers unlike some that use straight pipes with a X in the middle which I consider to be more of a straight pipe set up since there are no mufflers.
sorry for stealing the thread but I wanted to make this point- dyno below.

I must preface my comments as follows: I am not an exhaust expert, I do not have 700+ WHP. Stef @ Europipe is a god, and Markski has a huge portfolio of experience with high horse power cars and high quality fabrication.

Thought you might be interested in seeing some pictures of my custom, high flow, EUROPIPE with 997 RSR cats.

I've got the new EBWerks muffled catless 3" and it sounds GREAT! The mufflers are two small resonators (not baffles) placed after the X pipe just before the tips. There is no path in the flow less than 3". These are really well made exhausts, the price is right, and their service is unbeatable.
I'm not making near the power you are but that isn't because of the exhaust; mine just isn't modded beyond a flash.
Others who use this exhaust on the board are pushing over 700HP though with Alphas, etc...

Sorry I didn't meant to say Europipe is restrictive. I meant to say the specific 2.5" system I have is restrictive compared to the various 3" systems out there. A europipe 3" system would be less restrictive than mine. I have had my europipe for almost 7years now and still haven't given it up b/c of the sound it makes. I also easily pass smog STILL and have 60k miles on the system.
