remember that any height change will require a new alignement...

I can't beleive how much you guys pay for alignement, i have a very competent shop here that charges me 70$ and one that once charged me 120 because he spent a lot of time because it was way out of spec (race car, not on the Porsche). If you bring your spec to the guy, why should it cost more to align than a Camry or a Civic? it isn't any harder to align to any other vehicule, unless you want to have the car corner weighted but i doubt that's the case with H&R springs since it is not adjustable.

alignment south florida

Where did you have your alignment done? I'm looking for a shop near Miami/Coral Gables.

I bought my car with a flash that we think is APR, but want to make sure. I went to a local APR retailer in coral springs, fl who told me they could plug into my obd port and tell me in seconds if in fact it was. They had the car for a total of 8 minutes and wanted 1 hr of labor. After complaining that they never advised me of the cost (in Fl if its over $50 they must advise) they did me a favor of only charging me $60. While I didnt expect it to be free, I think they could have handled it differently as I feel they tried to screw me for a full hour. Oh, and they charge the same rate as Champion's hourly rate

While I agree that an alignment is only labor, there is the cost of the machine, the tech's wage, workers comp, other ins, etc. (hopefully they really do have insurance, google ford gt) and of course profit.

I need an alignment too, and found that most shops in South Florida charge more for a porsche as they claim there are more adjustment points and therefore may require more time to dial it in perfectly. Additionally, with the cost of the very limited supply of 315/25/19's I want to make sure I have the most competent person completing the work.

I hope this helps ease the pain, but I think you will either get use to the costs related to our engineering marvels, or learn how to complete some work yourself, or do as a friend of mine did, RUN LIKE HELL and SELL.

markmia, Im leaning towards champion motorsports if I can find time during the week to get it done. I thought I had a good referral for a shop local to me, but when I asked about corner balancing, they said you either align or corner balance not both. Obviously he isnt touching my car.

Funny thing is Ive used the same small tire shop, for alignments, for years, but I just dont trust them to do the porsche. They use to do the auto toy store and other high end places on sunrise blvd, but I keep thinking about their dirty hands all over my car. My wife thinks Im crazy, but my gut tells me otherwise.

In fact, anyone in the Hollywood/P. Pines/Ft laud area with recommendations, please let me know. EDIT: Not sure if wheels boutique does alignments, but they are in miami, they are a board sponsor, and I bought HRE's from them year ago. Ben was an upstanding guy. They're a little far for me, but my wheel purchasing experience was great.

wow. you're lucky. it's 25 bucks a wheel in LA. give or take. 200-250 for pro alignment w laser thing. spring install cpl hours, tops..and the springs cost at least 350 a set for h&r's. for the OP..1300 seems about right, if a bit high for the alignment.

i'd tip better too if they refused it

+1. Because you want them to still be there next time you show up.

"I'll pay you in cash" does not hurt either
