Porsche leading at Le Mans
I'm in a sad state. I have attended this race every year since 1990 (with the exception of 98 when they moved the race date 'cos of the World Cup and I was getting married). My wife's a couple of weeks out from having our second kid so obviously I can't be over there this close. Went to qualifying at the Brickyard today and called my brothers who are over there at the Sarthe. It was about 100 degrees F over there today and will be tomorrow. That weather is a ball burner at that event, I can tell you - especially when you're heavily boozed-up for 3-4 days. Needless to say they had no clue what was going on on the track.
The GT battle between the Alex Joeb, White Lightening and Flying Lizard cars should continue to be a good one. Shame that Panoz aren't competitive and I still don't understand why TVR even bother to show to this event. Also sad that the 360s just aren't reliable here - ever! In fact, Ferrari has not had a good race - only a couple of 550s left rattling around in GT1.
Obviously the Vette/Aston scrap is the one to watch and that will probably go to the end!
